Coastline

The shooting, filming, photographic advertising campaigns in coastal areas are subject to authorisation by the Coastal Demarcation Office of the Canary Islands, part of the Environmental Ministry; due to being areas of maritime-terrestrial public domain. Specially those activities which even though they do not require the construction or installation of any type of element, special circumstances of intensity, danger or profitability coincide; in the same way as for occupation of the maritime-terrestrial space with dismantling facilities or personal property.

To film in these areas, the Coastal Demarcation Office requires: the presentation of an authorised signed petition, documentation of the petitioners identity, deposit slip of the provisional fee (which amounts to 2% of the building or installation budget to be carried out in the maritime-terrestrial public domain) and four copies of the basic project containing the descriptive report, in which the characteristics of the installation, timetable of activities to develop and surface of the beach to occupy, are to be specified, as well as, providing situation plans at a convenient scale and the location with specification of the area to occupy.

It is advisable to apply for this permission at least a month before the start of the activity, since the dossier is complemented with other reports produced by the competent autonomous and local bodies, which will have a month to carry them out. Once the documentation provided is examined and authorisation given, the occupation fees of the maritime-terrestrial public domain must be paid to the State Administration.

The documentation must be submitted to:
