Fuerteventura Film Commission Training Programme Concludes Successfully with More Than One Hundred Participants

The training programme concluded with the Production Assistant Workshop, delivered by filmmaker Nick Egea.

A total of 120 participants took part in the training workshops organised by the Fuerteventura Film Commission as part of the special programme celebrating its 10th anniversary. The initiative proved to be a great success, offering specialised training delivered by highly experienced industry professionals and aimed at both working professionals and individuals interested in starting a career in the audiovisual sector.

The programme concluded with the third edition of the Production Assistant Workshop, led by filmmaker Nick Egea, a professional associated with Makkers School in Madrid. Egea brings more than twenty years of experience as a production manager on advertising campaigns and as a film producer.

The Councillor responsible for the Fuerteventura Film Commission, Nereida Calero, presented certificates to the participants and highlighted “the excellent response that all of the courses have received.” She also stated that “we will continue investing in training by introducing new courses that are needed in Fuerteventura and requested by professionals working within the audiovisual industry.”

This year’s training programme included workshops in Make-up and Hairdressing for Photographic Shoots, Sustainable Production Assistance, Screenwriting, Assistant Directing, and Production Assistance.

Participants received an official certificate that can be used as professional accreditation when applying for employment opportunities within the sector.

“Our objective is to ensure that productions arriving on the island have access to qualified local professionals,” explained Calero. “By strengthening local talent, we help support the audiovisual industry in Fuerteventura and meet the growing demand generated by the increasing number of productions choosing the island as a filming location.”
