Registration will be open from 23 to 30 October through the organisation’s official website.
The Fuerteventura Film Commission is launching a new course as part of its ongoing training programme for professionals and individuals interested in entering the audiovisual industry. On this occasion, the Commission will offer the professional photography course “The Photographer’s Eye”, delivered by renowned photojournalist, filmmaker and international educator José Luis Valdivia through his production company IKAPIA Filma.
This is the first photography course ever organised by the Fuerteventura Film Commission and will take place in Classroom 4 of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria facilities, located within the Fuerteventura Training and Conference Centre.
Registration will be open from 23 to 30 October through the Film Commission website under the Training section. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to residents of Fuerteventura.
According to Nereida Calero, Councillor responsible for the Fuerteventura Film Commission, this training initiative is particularly relevant within the island’s growing audiovisual sector.
“With this course, we continue to invest in the technical and artistic development of future local professionals, encouraging creativity while providing them with the tools needed to take on high-level projects in the highly competitive world of visual storytelling and audiovisual production,” she explained.
The 20-hour theoretical and practical workshop is aimed at both beginners and those wishing to deepen their understanding of photographic techniques, creativity and artistic expression. It is specifically designed to help participants develop their own personal voice and visual identity through photography.
Participants are not required to own photographic equipment, as the organisation will provide cameras and accessories for practical exercises. Training will also include image editing software such as Affinity Photo, which is currently available free of charge through its official website. Participants may alternatively use Adobe Camera Raw, Lightroom, or other editing software of their choice.
