Twenty-five participants receive specialised training delivered by photojournalist and filmmaker José Luis Valdivia.
The Fuerteventura Film Commission has successfully delivered the Advanced Photography Course The Eye and the Photographer, a training programme that brought together twenty-five participants interested in developing their photographic and audiovisual skills.
The workshop was taught by internationally recognised photojournalist, filmmaker and educator José Luis Valdivia through his production company IKAPIA Filma. The course forms part of the Film Commission’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the training and professional development of the audiovisual sector in Fuerteventura and is the second programme specifically dedicated to photography within its annual training schedule.
According to Nereida Calero, Councillor responsible for the Fuerteventura Film Commission, “the response to this course confirms the tremendous creative potential that exists on the island. Our objective is to continue providing opportunities that allow local residents to acquire professional skills and access new opportunities within the audiovisual industry.”
With a total duration of 20 hours, the course was aimed at participants with a basic understanding of photography and lighting and focused on advanced techniques in digital image processing and professional studio photography using advanced lighting systems.
Sessions were held in the afternoons from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., combining theoretical knowledge with practical exercises designed to strengthen participants’ technical and creative abilities.
Through initiatives such as this, the Fuerteventura Film Commission continues to consolidate a stable and diverse training programme that supports the development of local talent and strengthens the island’s audiovisual ecosystem, responding to the growing demand for specialised professional skills within the sector.
