Filming in Betancuria
Betancuria is home to one of the most beautiful historic centres in the Canary Islands. Beyond its picturesque old town, the municipality encompasses the villages of Vega de Río Palmas, a charming inland settlement renowned for its annual pilgrimage and hiking routes, and Valle de Santa Inés.
Betancuria is also home to one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Fuerteventura: Morro Velosa Viewpoint, crowned by two imposing aboriginal statues. From this unique location, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the vast Betancuria Rural Park, which covers approximately 90% of the municipality’s territory.
The municipality does not currently have a specific ordinance regulating audiovisual productions and filming activities.
Applications for filming permits within the municipality must be submitted directly to the Betancuria Town Council using the official application form provided.
Applicants must also include detailed information regarding the proposed activity, including:
- Filming dates
- Exact filming location(s) and GPS coordinates
- Technical equipment involved
- Number of crew members and personnel participating in the production
Please note that the municipality may apply administrative fees, depending on the nature and scale of the audiovisual activity being carried out.
