Filming in Antigua
Located in the central part of Fuerteventura, the municipality of Antigua stretches across the island’s eastern coast. Characterised by wide open plains, traditional windmills and charming rural villages, Antigua is also home to the popular tourist destination of Caleta de Fuste.
Among its most remarkable natural attractions is the Caldera de Gayría Natural Monument, one of the municipality’s most distinctive landscapes.
The municipality of Antigua has a specific ordinance regulating audiovisual productions and filming activities within its territory.
Depending on the nature of the activity, the regulations distinguish between:
- Exempt Activities (Article 5 of the Ordinance)
- Activities Requiring Authorisation or a Permit (Article 3 of the Ordinance)
- Activities Subject to Prior Notification (Article 4 of the Ordinance)
Applications for filming permits within the municipality must be submitted directly to the Antigua Town Council using the official application form provided.
Applicants must also include detailed information about the proposed activity, including:
- Filming dates
- Exact filming location(s) and GPS coordinates
- Technical equipment involved
- Number of crew members and personnel participating in the production
Please note that the municipality may apply administrative fees, depending on the type and scale of the filming activity being carried out.
