Location Manager

Format: In-person.

Dates: 2–7 August.

Instructor: Lourdes Rojas.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 16:00–20:00. Saturday, 10:00–14:00.

Venue: Juan Ismael Art Centre.

The aim of this course is to train audiovisual production professionals in Fuerteventura to work within the Locations Department on national and international productions, enabling them to provide high-quality services to film, television and advertising productions filmed on the island of Fuerteventura. This course will provide training in:

  • The Locations Department: what is it?
  • The relationship between the Locations Department and Production.
  • Types of productions: film, photography and events.
  • What should you know? Key considerations and essential information.
  • Tools of the trade: orientation, scale, concept development and field notebooks.
  • Data collection and reporting.
  • Permits: public authorities and private property owners, application procedures, follow-up processes, acquisition and responsibilities.
  • Location teams and their relationship with other departments during pre-production, filming and wrap. Practical case studies: interior and exterior locations.

Target Audience: Industry professionals wishing to specialise as Location Scouts or Location Managers.
