‘Fuerteventura, A Natural Film Set’ Travelling Exhibition Arrives in Antigua

Following its successful stops in Puerto del Rosario and Corralejo, the travelling exhibition “Fuerteventura, A Natural Film Set”, organised as part of the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the Fuerteventura Film Commission, has arrived at the Antigua Auditorium.

The exhibition was officially opened by Nereida Calero, Councillor responsible for the Fuerteventura Film Commission, together with Jonathan Peña, Councillor for Culture of Antigua Town Council, and David Alberto, Councillor for Urban Planning.

The exhibition offers visitors a journey through some of the most important productions filmed in Fuerteventura and provides a unique insight into the lesser-seen side of filmmaking through a collection of previously unseen photographs. These images were captured during filming by professionals responsible for documenting the production process throughout the shoot.

“Fuerteventura, A Natural Film Set” was first inaugurated on 16 September at the Chillida Hall of the Palace of Training and Conferences in Puerto del Rosario and is currently touring all six municipalities of the island.

The exhibition will remain in Antigua until 1 November and can be visited from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Following its stay in Antigua, the exhibition will move to the Casa del Zapatero in Betancuria from 7 to 21 November, the Morro Jable Bus Station from 26 November to 10 December, and finally the Gran Tarajal Library from 16 to 30 December.

The exhibition also serves as a tribute to the audiovisual industry, whose dedication and hard work have helped establish Fuerteventura as one of the world’s leading natural film locations.

In recent years, the island has hosted major international productions including Wonder Woman 1984, Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, Allied and Marvel’s Eternals, among many others.

National productions filmed in Fuerteventura include 30 Coins, The Lighthouse of the Orcas, 4L, Solo, Milk Men, Rendir los Machos and The Traveller.
