This training programme aims to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the technical and practical concepts required to understand how the different script development documents are written and prepared for a project development package when applying for funding, grants, laboratories or when presenting a project to national and international production companies.<\/p>\n
The workshop is aimed at screenwriters, directors, documentary filmmakers, producers, professional writers, film school students and other related professionals interested in developing a project with a first draft, treatment or screenplay outline.<\/p>\n

Yolanda Barrasa (Spain, 1970) is a script doctor, script consultant, screenwriter and playwright. She is an internationally recognised specialist in script analysis, consultancy, screenwriting and script education. An expert in dramatic structures and new forms of storytelling, her primary area of expertise is screenplay development and its various stages.<\/p>\n
For more than fifteen years, she has taught courses, workshops, SCREENWRITING LABS and project development programmes at universities, film institutions and film schools around the world, including the International School of Film and Television of San Antonio de los Ba\u00f1os, Cuba (EICTV), the National University of Colombia, and the Screenwriting Master\u2019s Programme at the University of La Laguna (ULL), Spain.<\/p>\n
She has served as a script consultant for numerous screenplay development laboratories and film project development programmes, including the General Directorate of Cinema of the Dominican Republic (DGCINE), PROCOMER and the Ministry of Culture of Costa Rica, the Buenos Aires Youth Art Biennial (Argentina), the M\u00e1laga Film Festival Talent Campus, the Guadalajara Film Festival Talent Campus, CinemaChile MarketLAB, the Ibermedia Training Programme and the SGAE Foundation Training Programme, among many other prestigious international initiatives.<\/p>\n
In 2023, she designed and co-directed the Extremadura Film Residency alongside filmmaker Juan Antonio Moreno. The programme brought together 20 projects\u201410 from Latin America, 4 from Spain, 1 from Portugal and 5 from Extremadura\u2014to work intensively on screenplay development, audience strategies, production planning and funding pathways.<\/p>\n
In 2013, she created the training programme for the Master\u2019s Degree in Creative Writing together with the Screenwriting Department of the International School of Film and Television of San Antonio de los Ba\u00f1os, Cuba (EICTV). In 2018, she founded MicroLAB in Madrid, a creative laboratory dedicated to the Microteatro format, which has successfully completed eleven editions.<\/p>\n
Her primary professional activity in the field of screenwriting is as a script consultant and advisor. She works as a script doctor and script coach for national and international productions. She has advised more than one hundred film projects for prestigious production companies and also consults on television and streaming series projects.<\/p>\n
She is a screenplay reader and analyst, preparing evaluation reports and selecting projects for funding schemes, development laboratories, training programmes, mentoring initiatives, development platforms, production company development departments, television networks, film festivals, screenwriting competitions and awards throughout Europe and Ibero-America.<\/p>\n
She is a founding partner of Microteatro Madrid, from its iconic beginnings in 2010 to its current venue on Loreto y Chicote Street in Madrid, attracting more than 3,000,000 spectators over its thirteen-year history. She is also the founder and creator of Microteatro RJ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which welcomed 4,500 spectators in just eight days during its 2014 edition and more than 7,000 spectators in one month in 2016.<\/p>\n
Since 2012, she has actively participated in forums, panel discussions and development programmes focused on auteur screenwriting, dramaturgy, digital content, new screens, emerging formats and new storytelling models in countries including Colombia, Brazil, Spain, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Argentina and Chile. In 2015 and 2016, she advised on the new Strategic Cultural Plan of the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain, specifically in the area of film policy and public support for the audiovisual sector.<\/p>\n
