Fuerteventura\u2019s audiovisual talent shone once again on Friday at the Cinedfest 2026 Island Gala, held at the Island Auditorium, where the short film The Mark, produced by the Fuerteventura School of Art, won the festival\u2019s top award.<\/b><\/p>\n
The production was the standout success of the evening, also taking home the awards for Best Cinematography, Best Director and Best Sound<\/b><\/span>, establishing itself as the most acclaimed work of this year\u2019s educational film festival.<\/p>\n Second place went to Lighthouse<\/i><\/span>, produced by CEIP Morro Jable<\/b><\/span>, while Perfectly Masculine<\/i><\/span>, by IES La Oliva<\/b><\/span>, received third prize. In addition, the documentary Oceanauts of the Blue Planet<\/i><\/span>, created by CEIP Casillas del \u00c1ngel<\/b><\/span>, was awarded Best Primary School Documentary in the Canary Islands<\/b><\/span>, a regional distinction.<\/p>\n The gala brought together students and teachers from thirteen schools across Fuerteventura<\/b><\/span>, all of whom spent the academic year producing short films and documentaries, using audiovisual storytelling as a powerful educational and creative tool.<\/p>\n Among the individual awards, Rayco B\u00e1ez<\/b><\/span> received <\/span>Best Director<\/b><\/span> for <\/span>Take the Money and Leave<\/i><\/span>; <\/span>Best Screenplay<\/b><\/span> went to <\/span>Can I Get You Out of Your House?<\/i><\/span>, produced by <\/span>CEIP Lajares<\/b><\/span>; <\/span>Juan Pablo Hern\u00e1ndez<\/b><\/span> won <\/span>Best Actor<\/b><\/span> for his performance in <\/span>The Attack<\/i><\/span>, by <\/span>IES Puerto Cabras Rafael B\u00e1ez<\/b><\/span>;
