The call for entries opens on <strong>15 September<\/strong> and will remain open until <strong>13 November<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The festival was presented on Monday at the Assembly Hall of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, with the participation of the President of the Cabildo, <strong>Lola Garc\u00eda<\/strong>; the Councillor responsible for Fuerteventura Film Commission, <strong>Nereida Calero<\/strong>; and the festival organisers, <strong>Adri\u00e1n Tejero<\/strong> and <strong>Miquel Jaume<\/strong>, whose production company collaborates with Fuerteventura Film Commission in developing this initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Cabildo President <strong>Lola Garc\u00eda<\/strong> highlighted that <em>&#8220;this festival allows us to continue showcasing Fuerteventura&#8217;s audiovisual potential. From the Cabildo, we remain committed to supporting and creating opportunities for creativity and talent to flourish, while also promoting the culture and identity of our island.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Councillor <strong>Nereida Calero<\/strong> explained that <em>&#8220;we approach this second edition with the aim of further consolidating a festival that focuses on promoting local talent within Fuerteventura&#8217;s audiovisual sector.&#8221;<\/em> She also encouraged everyone to participate, stressing that <em>&#8220;you don&#8217;t need to be a professional\u2014you just need an idea and the desire to tell a story.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Festival organiser <strong>Adri\u00e1n Tejero<\/strong> praised Fuerteventura Film Commission&#8217;s commitment to continuing the project, noting that <em>&#8220;this second edition represents another step towards establishing a festival that truly belongs to Fuerteventura and helping it continue to grow.&#8221;<\/em> He also announced that this year&#8217;s edition will place greater emphasis on outreach and collaboration with members of the island&#8217;s cultural community.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow organiser <strong>Miquel Jaume<\/strong> underlined the importance of festivals in supporting the audiovisual industry, stating that <em>&#8220;we all started at film festivals. They are a fundamental opportunity for emerging filmmakers and help build a strong audiovisual industry on the island.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The theme chosen for this year&#8217;s edition is <strong>&#8220;Myths and Legends of Fuerteventura&#8221;<\/strong>, inviting participants to portray, reinterpret or create stories inspired by the island&#8217;s culture and identity. The festival welcomes productions in any genre or style, including fiction, documentary, experimental cinema, comedy, horror, animation and video art.<\/p>\n<p>Submitted films must have a maximum running time of <strong>15 minutes<\/strong>, including credits.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Open and Free Participation<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The festival is open to participants of all ages and nationalities, with no limit on the number of works each filmmaker may submit. Participants under the age of 18 must provide written consent from a parent or legal guardian.<\/p>\n<p>Participation is free of charge, and entries must be submitted through the festival website:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aridafilms.com\/festival\">https:\/\/aridafilms.com\/festival<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The submission period closes at <strong>11:59 p.m. (Canary Islands time) on 13 November<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The jury will consist of three professionals from the audiovisual and cultural sectors, whose names will be announced soon through the festival&#8217;s official communication channels.<\/p>\n<p>This second edition also features an increase in prize money. The <strong>Best Short Film Award<\/strong> carries a prize of <strong>\u20ac1,000<\/strong>, while the <strong>Second Prize<\/strong> is worth <strong>\u20ac300<\/strong> and the <strong>Third Prize<\/strong> <strong>\u20ac200<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The awards ceremony and the announcement of the winners are scheduled for <strong>27 November<\/strong>. The organisers reserve the right to make changes to the timetable if necessary, with any updates to be communicated through the festival&#8217;s official website.<\/p>\n<p>With this new edition, Fuerteventura Film Commission continues to create opportunities for audiovisual storytelling, encouraging filmmakers to share the stories, culture and landscapes of Fuerteventura through their own
