The Fuerteventura Film Commission has led an initiative enabling 400 students to embark on the exciting journey of creating their own short films to compete in this renowned educational film festival. The programme has reached 15 educational centres across Fuerteventura, setting a new participation record for the island.
Over the course of a month, students received comprehensive training to produce their own short films. From the initial concept through to the final screen version, participants acquired essential audiovisual storytelling skills. Best of all, the Fuerteventura Film Commission provides all the necessary equipment free of charge, ensuring every student has the opportunity to bring their ideas to life.
The winning short film will be announced on 17 June, while the regional grand final will take place on 20 June in Tenerife. Beyond promoting young talent, the programme also seeks to raise awareness of the island’s extraordinary natural heritage, one of Fuerteventura’s greatest treasures.
Thanks to the vision of Cabildo President Lola García and the leadership of Nereida Calero, this year’s edition promises to be unforgettable. It is now time for Fuerteventura’s students to shine in the world of cinema and audiovisual production.
