Fuerteventura Film Commission Trains Twelve Participants in 2D and 3D Animation for Television, Film and Video Games

As a final project, participants created their own demo reels, which will help them showcase their skills to companies within the audiovisual industry.

Twelve participants successfully completed the 2D and 3D Animation Techniques for Television, Film and Video Games course offered by the Fuerteventura Film Commission as part of its educational programme aimed at supporting the growth of the island’s audiovisual industry.

At the closing ceremony, Lola García, President of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, and Nereida Calero, Councillor responsible for the Fuerteventura Film Commission, presented the participants with their certificates and congratulated them on completing a programme designed to open new career opportunities in rapidly expanding sectors with strong national and international demand.

The course was delivered over a six-month period at the Palace of Training and Conferences by renowned animator and illustrator Tenesor Cruz. The programme was structured around five modules, exploring advanced 2D and 3D animation tools and techniques used within the audiovisual industry. Throughout the course, participants enhanced their technical abilities, identified their strengths and worked towards the creation of a final project: a professional demo reel designed to showcase their talent and connect them directly with potential employers and industry professionals.

During the closing event, participants presented their final projects and attended a masterclass led by Miguel Miranda, animation director, animator, concept artist and instructor in both traditional and digital 2D animation, with more than ten years of experience in the audiovisual sector.

Miranda has worked on numerous national and international productions as a content creator, including El Club de Archi (2012), Cleo (2014), La Trompeta (2015), Black is Beltza (2018) and The Last Archer (2020), among many others.

Over the six months of training, participants also benefited from the expertise of other leading professionals from the animation industry, including Alby Ojeda, Miguel Delgado and Guillermo Rancel.
