Adrián Tejero Premieres His New Short Film as Part of the Fuerteventura Film Commission Festival
Filmmakers interested in taking part in the festival may submit their entries until 14 November 2025.
Fuerteventura filmmaker Adrián Tejero has premiered his latest short film, The Naked Promise, created as part of the Fuerteventura Film Commission Short Film Festival initiative, with the aim of encouraging local creators and aspiring filmmakers to participate in the competition.
As the festival coordinator, Tejero has produced a work that combines emotional storytelling, technical simplicity and a powerful message about faith, commitment and keeping one’s word.
The short film is now available to watch online:
Set in the Fuerteventura of years gone by, the story follows a man who makes a promise to Our Lady of La Peña: if his seriously ill wife recovers, he will walk barefoot to visit the sanctuary in gratitude.
When the miracle takes place, the protagonist is confronted with the physical and emotional challenge of fulfilling his promise alone.
The film was shot in just two days using only a mobile phone, demonstrating that compelling stories can be told without expensive equipment or large production budgets.
Through this project, Tejero hopes to inspire participation in the festival and encourage creators who may have hesitated to submit their work.
The short film also offers a creative and distinctive interpretation of the festival’s central theme, illustrating how the story of Our Lady of La Peña can be approached from a wide range of artistic perspectives and narrative styles.
