Monday, 30 June 2025
The Fuerteventura Film Commission and the Canary Islands Audiovisual Cluster would like to remind interested participants that registration for the Green Filming course remains open until 4 July.
This free training programme is aimed at individuals interested in gaining specialised knowledge and practical skills in sustainable audiovisual production.
The course is the first in a series of professional training initiatives that will be developed jointly by the Fuerteventura Film Commission and the Canary Islands Audiovisual Cluster, in collaboration with OFF ESCAC, the professional training programme of the ESCAC – Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya.
According to Nereida Calero, Councillor responsible for the Fuerteventura Film Commission, initiatives such as this create valuable educational opportunities for the island, “placing environmental awareness and respect for nature at the centre of professional training.”
The programme will run from 14 to 18 July and is designed to provide participants with the tools and knowledge required to implement sustainable practices throughout the audiovisual production process.
Registration remains open until 4 July and can be completed through the following link:

The course will take place in Room B of the Fuerteventura Training and Conference Centre.
Classes will be held from Monday to Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., complemented by a tutorial session on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The programme will be taught in person by Yanira Cáceres and is open to participants aged 16 and over.
According to Cáceres, “the course will cover all the methodologies required to calculate the carbon footprint of audiovisual projects, explore sustainability certification processes, and provide an understanding of the regulations and procedures involved in carrying out audiovisual productions in Fuerteventura.”
Participation is free of charge. However, students are required to pay a €50 deposit, which will be fully refunded provided they attend at least 80% of the sessions and successfully complete the course as assessed by the teaching staff.
Upon completion, participants will receive an official certificate signed by the ESCAC Directorate.
The programme is funded by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA) and the European Union’s Next Generation Funds.
