Fuerteventura Hosts the Filming of the Danish Production ‘Isle’

The feature film has been shooting in Fuerteventura since November in locations including Costa Calma and Gran Tarajal.

Following the filming of the television series Fartblinda 3 earlier this year, production company Orange Valley Canarias has returned to Fuerteventura to shoot the feature film Isle, a Danish production filming on the island for six weeks with an investment exceeding €3 million.

The film is directed by Maria Sødahl, the acclaimed Norwegian filmmaker known for her award-winning films Hope and Limbo. Filming locations include Playa de la Barca in Costa Calma, Las Playitas, and Gran Tarajal, once again demonstrating Fuerteventura’s appeal as a natural film set thanks to its diverse landscapes and favourable weather conditions.

Production is also taking place at the Pozo Negro Experimental Farm, one of the film’s key locations, which was recently visited by Nereida Calero, Councillor responsible for the Fuerteventura Film Commission.

According to Calero, “this is another feature film being shot entirely on the island, following productions such as American Star, Playa de Lobos and Solo, all of which benefited from the support and coordination provided by the Fuerteventura Film Commission.”

She added: “We remain committed to attracting film productions because they represent an important opportunity for economic diversification, job creation and investment in Fuerteventura, always ensuring the utmost respect for our environment and natural landscapes.”

Orange Valley is a large-scale production services company based in the Canary Islands, providing comprehensive support for advertising, film, television and digital productions. For more than a decade, the company has relied on Fuerteventura as an exceptional filming destination, producing around ten projects on the island.

Some of these productions, including the television series Detektiven, can currently be seen in the travelling exhibition organised by the Fuerteventura Film Commission to celebrate its tenth anniversary, which is touring all six municipalities of the island.
