The exhibition organised by the Fuerteventura Film Commission concludes its tour of the island’s municipalities before moving to Fuerteventura Airport.
The travelling exhibition “Fuerteventura, A Natural Film Set”, organised by the Fuerteventura Film Commission, has reached its final municipal stop in Gran Tarajal. The exhibition will remain open to the public at the Gran Tarajal Library until 12 January, with visiting hours from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday to Sunday.
The opening ceremony was attended by Nereida Calero, Councillor responsible for the Fuerteventura Film Commission, and Candelaria Umpiérrez, Mayor of Tuineje.
Since its inauguration on 16 September, “Fuerteventura, A Natural Film Set” has travelled across the island, offering visitors a journey through some of the most significant productions filmed in Fuerteventura while revealing the lesser-seen side of filmmaking through a collection of exclusive behind-the-scenes photographs captured during productions.
According to Nereida Calero, the exhibition has been exceptionally well received at each of its stops. Prior to arriving in Gran Tarajal, the exhibition was displayed at the Fuerteventura Training and Conference Centre in Puerto del Rosario, the Corralejo Auditorium, the Antigua Auditorium, the Casa del Zapatero in Betancuria, and the Assembly Hall of the Morro Jable Bus Station.
“It has generated great interest among both residents and visitors, who have been eager to learn more about the exhibition and the productions filmed in Fuerteventura,” Calero explained. She also announced that, once the exhibition concludes its stay in Gran Tarajal, it will move to Fuerteventura Airport, where it will remain on display for several months.
The exhibition serves as a tribute to the audiovisual industry and to the professionals whose dedication and effort have helped establish Fuerteventura as one of the world’s leading natural film locations.
“I would like to congratulate everyone who continues to drive this industry forward on the island. We are proud of everything that has been achieved over the last ten years, and our commitment is to continue supporting a sector that is fully compatible with Fuerteventura and its natural environment,” Calero added.
In recent years, the island has hosted major international productions including Wonder Woman 1984, Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, Allied and Marvel’s Eternals, among many others. National productions filmed in Fuerteventura include 30 Coins, The Lighthouse of the Orcas, 4L, Solo, Milk Men, Rendir los Machos and The Traveller.
