Fuerteventura Becomes the Backdrop for Notodofilmfest Short Films

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Fuerteventura Film Commission (FFC), announces the arrival of the prestigious Notodofilmfest Short Film Festival, which this year will feature acclaimed filmmaker Javier Fesser as its ambassador.

Now celebrating its 22nd edition, Notodofilmfest will include the participation of Javier Fesser as ambassador for the Fuerteventura Natural Film Set Award. Registration for the competition will open on 5 September, and filmmakers are invited to submit their audiovisual productions for consideration.

Javier Fesser, renowned for films such as The Miracle of P. Tinto, Champions and Camino, is currently shooting a short film in Fuerteventura with the aim of inspiring other creators to take part in the competition. The Fuerteventura Natural Film Set Award will recognise the best short film shot on the island with a prize of €1,000, highlighting the island’s natural beauty and unique landscapes.

According to Nereida Calero, Councillor responsible for the Fuerteventura Film Commission, “our island offers extraordinary landscapes that provide the perfect setting for any audiovisual production. Through this award, we aim to encourage creativity while showcasing the natural potential of Fuerteventura. We are delighted to have an ambassador of Javier Fesser’s calibre, whose career and talent continue to inspire new generations of filmmakers.”

The competition is open to anyone with access to a recording device and the ability to produce a short film with a maximum running time of three and a half minutes.
