The Fuerteventura Film Commission would like to remind filmmakers and creators that submissions for the first edition of the FFC Short Film Festival remain open.

For this inaugural edition, all entries must be inspired by Nuestra Señora de La Peña, the patron saint of Fuerteventura. Projects may be submitted in any audiovisual format, including fiction, experimental film, animation or video art, and may explore any genre, from comedy and action to horror and beyond.

Interested participants may submit their work until 14 November 2025 through the online form available at:

www.aridafilms.com/festival

Alternatively, entries may be sent by email to:

The members of the festival jury have also been announced. The panel will be composed of Fuerteventura-based audiovisual professionals Miguel Letang, Pedro Estoico and Adrián Tejero, all of whom have extensive experience within the island’s audiovisual sector.

Their involvement reinforces the festival’s commitment to supporting local talent and strengthening the creative industries in Fuerteventura.

The winning short film will be announced at the end of November 2025.

According to Nereida Calero, Councillor responsible for the Fuerteventura Film Commission, the festival represents “another important step in our commitment to the audiovisual sector on an island that has become firmly established as a natural film set, while also helping to strengthen the local creative community.”

The festival is organised in collaboration with Fuerteventura filmmaker Adrián Tejero and his production company Árida Films, which is responsible for the technical and creative coordination of the event.
