Fuerteventura Film Commission’s Screenwriting Course a Success with Twenty-Five Participants

A total of twenty-five participants completed training in screenwriting through the workshop programme organised by the Fuerteventura Film Commission. This was the first time the FFC had offered a course of this kind, with the aim of providing participants with a solid introduction to screenwriting and guiding them through the development of a screenplay structure, which they presented on the final day of the programme.

The course was delivered by Yolanda Barrasa, screenwriter and one of Spain’s pioneering script consultants, as well as an internationally recognised specialist in screenplay analysis, writing and education. Throughout the workshop, Barrasa placed particular emphasis on screenplay development and the different stages involved in the writing process.

According to Nereida Calero, Councillor responsible for the Fuerteventura Film Commission, “the Film Commission remains firmly committed to training both industry professionals and individuals wishing to begin a career in audiovisual and film production.”

“This commitment has been further strengthened as part of the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the Fuerteventura Film Commission, with the introduction of courses that had never before been offered on the island,” Calero added.

She also noted that the Make-up and Hairdressing for Photographic Shoots course and the Sustainable Production Assistant workshop have already been successfully completed. The next training opportunities will be the Assistant Director Workshop, scheduled from 15 to 19 July, followed by the Production Assistant Workshop, which will take place in September.

Further information and registration details are available on the Fuerteventura Film Commission website.
